Located in the beautiful Animas Valley North of Durango, Fields to Plate Produce started in 2013 with a desire to provide consistent produce that chefs could build a menu around and that households could enjoy throughout the year. Fields to Plate Produce is a diversified 10-acre certified organic produce farm with a specialty in root vegetables. They also grow many other vegetables from squash, potatoes, greens, tomatoes, cucumbers and chicory such as radicchio, to brassica crops like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, romanesco and kale. Fields to Plate Produce is a certified organic operation with minimal off farm inputs. They raise lamb and cattle along with vegetables, which allows the livestock to feed the vegetable operation through composted manure. Without the livestock, their ability to grow delicious produce year after year would not be possible. They also practice sustainable crop rotation for the vegetables and rotational grazing for the animals.
